La Passeggiata del Duca a Nervi by Franco Lorioli is a luminous watercolor capturing the rugged beauty of the Ligurian coastline - where weathered cliffs meet crystalline Mediterranean waters in a dance of turquoise, teal, and sun-warmed stone.

Lorioli is a Genoese artist trained at the prestigious Brera Academy of Art in Milan, where he studied under the renowned painter Gian Filippo Usellini. He also attended the Free School of Nude Drawing under Aldo Carpi before graduating in painting in 1958. His mastery of watercolor technique - evident in the fluid transparency of the sea and the confident brushwork of the rocky shoreline - reflects decades of artistic discipline.

After years of intense creative work, Lorioli returned to Brera as a professor, holding the chair of Figure and Ornament before teaching watercolor techniques at the Liceo Artistico of the Ursuline Sisters. This piece carries the hallmarks of his training: technical precision, atmospheric light, and an intimate connection to the Italian landscape.

30 x 40 cm. Watercolor on paper.
