"Aphrodite Liquid" (2025) by Leo Caillard is a breathtaking sculpture that reimagines the ancient goddess in contemporary form - her classical beauty stretched and swept by an invisible wind, as if solid matter has become fluid and time itself has begun to bend.
The work embodies Caillard's signature dialogue between past, present, and future. From one angle, a pristine neoclassical bust emerges in exquisite detail; from another, the figure dissolves into cascading waves, evoking both digital glitches and the erosion of millennia compressed into a single frozen moment.
Leo Caillard is a rising figure on the international art scene whose work has been featured at the Louvre, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, LACMA, the Fondation Cartier, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. Trained in marble carving and digital technology, he creates "glitchy sculptures" where digital waves appear to ripple through renowned classical figures - a commentary on our world suspended between reality and virtuality.
Movement and form. Ancient and modern. Ephemeral and eternal. This is sculpture for our moment.
