The Solaris charter will depart from and return to the Maritime Museum's dock in Kingston, traveling down the Rondout Creek and into the Hudson River. Along the way, you will see the Kingston Lighthouse, birds such as eagles and herons, and a beautiful stretch of the river.
About Solaris
Designed by marine architect Dave Gerr from a concept developed by David Borton, owner of Sustainable Energy, Solaris is commercial in design, meeting all U.S. Coast Guard regulations for commercial passenger-carrying vessels. Solaris is the only solar-powered boat in opperation on the Hudson River and does not require fossil fuels to run. Equipped with batteries and high efficiency solar panels, Solaris can travel up to 50 miles at night and the panels continue to power her batteries even on cloudy days.
This would an excellent outing for you and your friends to experience the River. Bring snacks and drinks and watch the sun go down in the shadow of the Kingston Lighthouse.
