Crafted with care and skill by participants in the Wood Shop Vocation Program at the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office, this piece showcases the power of hands-on learning and the beauty of true craftsmanship. Under the guidance of lifelong woodworker Lt. Sean Plummer, who has led the program since 2023, participants transform raw lumber into pieces that are both functional and artful.

Adirondack chairs and ottomans take shape alongside side tables, bat houses, and birdhouses. Wooden vases, bowls, cribbage boards, and other creative works emerge from the shop - each one built with patience, precision, and pride. Every item reflects not only the skill of its maker but the meaningful impact of a program that teaches craftsmanship, confidence, and the value of creating something lasting.
