Artist: Christine Cincotta

The work up for auction is an original ink and watercolor on Arches Cold Press 140lb paper. I was inspired while sketching the negative space of trees. I combined this technique with the negative space for the letter f.

Artist Bio: Christine Cincotta is a New York based artist. She graduated from Pratt Institute, where she met her husband Steve Light. They share their apartment with their cat Maddie.

Christine's first passion is pottery and creating hand built clay sculptures. For over twenty years, she has been working in watercolor. Christine is interested in exploring organic, natural shapes and the use of color and form to make original designs. She collects seeds, pods, shells and other natural elements. She searches for shapes that speak to her to help inspire her paintings.

When Christine isn't teaching at Friends Seminary, she is drawing with her fountain pen and painting with watercolors on location. You can find her at the botanical gardens and parks in NYC and other cities where she travels. She loves finding natural elements in the middle of such fascinating urban environments.
