Gifted from a generous Roxbury donor, this beautiful antique rustic wooden cupboard, handcrafted with traditional joinery and rich patina reflects years of natural aging. The cabinet features two paneled doors with hand-carved recessed panels and original iron hardware, including a forged latch and keyhole escutcheon. The piece is constructed from solid hardwood displaying natural knots and grain that enhance its authentic provincial character. The deep, warm honey-brown finish shows subtle variations from age and use, contributing to its historic charm.The cupboard is topped with a substantial molded cornice, giving the piece a strong architectural presence. Decorative vertical paneling and simple carved details frame the doors, reflecting traditional country craftsmanship typical of French provincial furniture. At the base, the cabinet rests on short carved feet, adding a slightly elevated stance while maintaining its sturdy, grounded appearance.
