Enjoy a private weekday tour of the jaw-dropping Sleepy Cat Farm in Greenwich, CT along with a delicious sampling of Bridgewater Chocolates.
For the private tour, you and up to 8 guests will have a 1.5 - 2-hour tour of this breathtaking garden. In 1994, Fred Landman purchased a Georgian Revival home offering him a clean slate upon which he built Sleepy Cat Farm. Landman worked with Greenwich architect Charles Hilton and noted landscape architect Charles J. Stick to create a "a garden of which the house could be proud of." Over the 13.5 acres and 30 years, while keeping in mind the concept of creating harmony between the house and garden, he sought to draw inspiration from his travels throughout Europe and Asia.
Through a series of garden rooms laid out upon an undulating landscape with hills, rocks, and lawns, streams, steps, and statues, pavilions and bridges, all surrounded by flowers, there can be found unexpected beauty at every turn. With his wife and chef Seen Lippert, the couple open their property to various garden clubs, horticulture enthusiasts, and designers.
Twice a year they open the gates for the Garden Conservancy's Open Days program, where hundreds of tickets are sold. Tours are typically offered Monday through Thursday at 10:00am; however, if that time does not work for the winning bidder, an alternative mutually agreeable time may be arranged with the hosts.
