ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Connecticut artist Hilary Griffin muses that art is in her genes. She is the descendent of famous Sardinian painter Giovanni Marghinotti, who painted for the royal courts of Sardinia, Italy and Spain in the 19th century. Hilary's ancestors settled in Greenwich in the early 1900's from Italy and she is a local painter with deep roots to the town of Greenwich.

Always inspired by her ancestor, Hilary is called to paint and has been creating art for decade. She draws upon her childhood along the beaches and the woodlands of Connecticut, her extensive travels through North America's national parks and her years spent in Europe. Currently living on the Connecticut shoreline, year-round New England vistas abound for her subject matter, which focus on seascapes and landscapes.

She is the Co-President of the Madison Art Society and is a leader in the CT art community. She is an elected member of various art societies and has won numerous awards for her paintings. Her art can be found in corporate and private collections and in galleries in New England.
