This beautiful lithograph is based on the original painting by Salvador Dali in 1962, titled "The Battle of Tetuan" The artwork is quintessential surrealism and much more. It has been reported the Dali spent two years of intensive work and more than 600 preliminary drawings were involved in the creation of this intricately detailed masterpiece. The original painting depicts the battle between the Spanish army and the north African tribal levies that made up the Moroccan Army. That battle took place between 1859-1860 near Tetuan, Morocco, close to Tangier.
