Be part of the oldest cultural treasure west of the Mississippi! Enjoy a family membership in the St. Louis Mercantile Library at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
As a member of the Mercantile Library you have access to millions of books in the University of Missouri-St. Louis' collection. Tours, special lectures and informal talks, symposia and family events, openings and receptions for special exhibitions of the collections, and other programs are all benefits of maintaining your library membership.
All members receive the Annual Report, periodic e-newsletters, and members-only invitations, as well as discounts on Library exhibition catalogues and other Library merchandise.
The library is currently featuring an exhibit on Frederick Oakes Sylvester's paintings.
Frederick Oakes Sylvester (1869-1915) is a well known American artist who was born in MA but who lived for many years in St. Louis and Elsah, IL. He is particularly known for his paintings of the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers.
Included is docent-led tour of the library and a signed copy of Frederick Oakes Sylvester & His Circle by Julie Dunn-Morton.
