As a member of the Mercantile Library you have access to millions of books in the University of Missouri-St. Louis' collection. The library is currently featuring an exhibit on Frederick Oakes Sylvester's paintings.

Frederick Oakes Sylvester (1869-1915) is a well known American artist who was born in MA but who lived for many years in St. Louis and Elsah, IL. He is particularly known for his paintings of the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers.

Included is docent-led tour of the library and a signed copy of Frederick Oakes Sylvester & His Circle by Julie Dunn-Morton.
