The three-dimensional nature of the ceramic egg provided to Eggshibition artists, the beach-oriented theme of this year's event, and the melodramatic (but accurate) description of eggs as "chicken spawn" collectively nudged my thoughts in the direction of the classic, campy "so bad it's good" 3-D movies of the 1950s and 1960s. What began to take shape in my mind, was "SPAWN OF THE CREATURE: IN 3-D!" (yes, the "all caps" and the exclamation point are essential parts of the title): the story of a renegade giant mutant chicken and its egg ruining a day at the beach for surfers, a happy couple, a beach bunny, and (for some reason) a Soviet cosmonaut. I think we're moving toward the dramatic climax of the film because, 15+ years after the fact, the Normandy flotilla has just shown up for showdown with the giant chicken - thus further inconveniencing iconic surfer Miki Dora who just wanted a nice day on the waves. I never figured out how the whole thing ended so, if you end up with this thing, write your own.
