Downers Grove Christian School's 2026 Gala Dinner & Auction

# 1. ELIGIBILITY

The Eagle's Flight Raffle is open to all raffle ticket purchasers who are 18 years of age or older at the time of the raffle ticket purchase. Employees, board members, and immediate family members of DGCS faculty and staff are eligible to participate. Purchase of a raffle ticket does not guarantee enrollment at DGCS; all standard DGCS admissions requirements apply to the prize recipient (see Section 6).

# 2. TICKET PURCHASE

• The maximum number of tickets available for purchase will be 250 (two-hundred and fifty)
• The price per ticket is $100.00 (one hundred dollars)
• Each ticket is given a sequential, unique number when purchased (starting with Ticket # 1).
• Ticket owners must provide name and contact information
• There is no limit or restriction on the number of tickets an individual may purchase
• Tickets may be purchased in advance of or at the Gala event, subject to availability
• All sales are final; no refunds will be issued unless the raffle is cancelled (see Section 9)

# 3. THE DRAWING

• The drawing will take place on March 13, 2026 at the DGCS Annual Gala 
  • Held at Embassy Suites Naperville, 1823 Abriter Court, Naperville, IL 60563
• One (1) winning ticket number will be selected at random from all ticket numbers sold
• Selection of the winner will be done using a 3rd-party random number generator in which the range of sequential numbers will only include the numbers from tickets purchased ("drawing")
• The random number generator will be operated by a designated DGCS representative who is not a raffle ticket purchaser
• The winner will be announced at the Gala, but the winner does not need to be present

# 4. WINNER NOTIFICATION

• Upon drawing the winning number, the winner's name will be announced to the Gala audience
• If the winner is present at the Gala, the winner will be publicly acknowledged at that time
• If the winner is not present at the Gala, DGCS will contact the winner within 5 days of the event using the contact information provided at time of ticket purchase
• The ticket purchaser is responsible for accuracy of contact info provided at time of purchase
• If DGCS is unable to reach the winner after five (5) good faith contact attempts within 30 days of the drawing, the prize may be forfeited and a new drawing held at the sole discretion of DGCS

# 5. ODDS OF WINNING

• The Eagle's Flight Raffle is a game of chance for charity; it Is not a gamble.  The odds of winning cannot be influenced unless one buys ALL the tickets.  No one is obligated to participate.  Odds of winning depend on tickets sold. If 250 tickets are sold, the odds of one ticket winning are 1 in 250.

# 6. THE PRIZE

• There will be one (1) winner of the raffle who shall receive one (1) full academic year of tuition at Downers Grove Christian School for one (1) DGCS enrolled student between Kindergarten and 8th grade; the free year of tuition will be only for the 2026-2027 academic year ("prize")
• The prize covers the cost for annual base tuition only; it does not include registration fees, extracurricular costs, or other charges not included in base tuition
• The prize may not be "parsed" or treated in any other way except as one (1) full academic year; for example, the prize cannot be split into two (2) half-years, or four (4) quarter years, etc.
  
• This prize may be transferred by the winner designating the specific student who is to receive the 2026-2027 free annual DGCS tuition, provided that (a) that student is accepted into DGCS based on current practices, standards;  and (b) that student's parents or guardians agree to accept the prize.
  
• If the winner designates the prize for a student who does not attend DGCS in 2026-2027, and if such a fact is known before July 31, 2026, then the winner may designate an alternate recipient, provided the same conditions of DGCS and parental acceptance apply
  
• If the winner designates the prize for a student who does not complete the 2026-2027 academic year at DGCS, then the prize shall be deemed fulfilled nonetheless; there is no refunded value and no reassignment of the prize to another DGCS student
  
• This prize has no cash value, cannot be sold or traded; it is non-transferable except as noted above
  
• This prize may not be applied retroactively or to any prior tuition balance
  
• This prize is for one (1) year only and does not guarantee continuation of enrollment or future tuition awards
  

# 7. ENROLLMENT

Winning the prize does not automatically enroll a student at DGCS. The prize is contingent upon the student being accepted to attend DGCS for the 2026-2027 school year by meeting all standard DGCS admissions requirements, including but not limited to: completing the application process in a timely manner, meeting academic standards, and adhering to DGCS's Statement of Faith and Parent Handbook expectations. DGCS reserves the right to decline enrollment based on our policies.

# 8. TAX IMPLICATIONS

The prize may or may not constitute taxable income to the winner under applicable federal and/or state tax law. DGCS makes no representation regarding the tax treatment of the prize. Winners are solely responsible for any and all applicable tax disclosures and filings. DGCS may require the winner to complete applicable IRS forms prior to receiving the prize.

# 9. GENERAL CONDITIONS

DGCS reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify this raffle if fraud, technical failure, or any other factor beyond reasonable control impairs the integrity of the raffle, as determined by DGCS in its sole discretion.  By purchasing a ticket, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.  Decisions by DGCS on this raffle are final.
