This class is creating a special auction item to represent the essential and sacred milestones they are achieving this year as third graders.

The kids have done an amazing job creating three beads each out of Shrinky Dinks craft material to complete the five decades of the rosary. One bead pertaining to a first communion symbol, one for confirmation or relating to their saint and one with their name on it. If you are not familiar with this product, it is a sheet of plastic film that can be drawn or colored on, cut and then baked for a few seconds. As it heats, the film shrinks down into a hard plastic piece of artwork. The kids loved watching these transform as they watched them bake and were so excited to see their finished work! Each set of ten beads is separated by the mysteries (the school year, St. Mary's, Mrs. Munie's and Father Bob's names). A class picture links the bottom five beads and crucifix to finish out the rosary. The kids can choose one or two colors (pictured) for the beads they want to have separate the mysteries. For example, Robbie has picked black and orange because those are his Tigers baseball colors.

These kids have had a lot of fun creating memories doing this project which embraces such a special time in their lives.

*It is really neat to have these at the ceremony in Springfield to potentially have the Bishop bless them afterwards! If you are interested in doing this please let Adrienne David know so that she can prioritize the orders accordingly.
