Muay Thai Kickboxing Class at Coronado Training Center

One month of training/class. Free enrollment, gloves, hand wraps, and anklets. Muay Thai also known as Thai Boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing or The Art of Eight Limbs is a type of martial arts practiced in Thailand.

Muay Thai has a long history in Thailand as the country's national sport. Muay Thai is referred to as the "Science of Eight Limbs", as hands, shins, elbows, and knees are all used extensively in this sport. A master practitioner of Muay Thai thus has the ability to execute strikes using eight "points of contact" as opposed to "two points"(fists) in Boxing and "four points" (fists/feet) in a traditional sports art form such as Tae Kwon Do. Muay Thai is often considered the best art form for street self-defense. We teach Muay Thai as a sport and for basic street self-defense. In either case, we stress what we teach is to be used only in tournaments or real self-defense situations. We teach to respect the art form and all people. Most of our students train to get in great shape and have fun but competitions may be available for our more serious students.
