DUCHENNE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY
Duchenne is one of the most common and severe forms of muscular dystrophy. It affects roughly 1 in 5,000 confirmed male births, but sometimes affects females as well. In all cases, Duchenne is caused by mutations in the gene encoding for dystrophin, a protein muscles need to work properly. It is 100% fatal.

MEET THE REVELL FAMILY
Laura and Tim Revell stumbled upon CureDuchenne through an online search for Duchenne organizations that resonated with their Christian beliefs. Their quest led them to the Miller family, the founders of CureDuchenne, who shared a strikingly similar outlook on their family's newly diagnosed situation. Their shared determination to make a positive impact and their refusal to accept 'no' as an answer brought them together.
In a remarkable display of commitment, Tim Revell promptly embarked on his marathon journey (completing 20 to date), orchestrated the Champions gala, and organized the Ladies Luncheon, all while actively fundraising to support the quest for a cure. These initial endeavors grew into expansive opportunities, opening doors for them to mobilize substantial financial resources dedicated to advancing multiple research projects towards clinical trials. The Revells remain steadfast in their dedication to not letting down this generation of boys and young men facing Duchenne. Fueled by the boundless love they hold for their two sons, Andrew and Timothy, they stand resolute in their mission: Together, we will cure Duchenne!
