0Come spend the day at Little Greenbrier School and hike to the Walker Sisters' homestead with Robin Goddard! Robin has volunteered with Great Smoky Mountains National Park for over 50 years, sharing the history of the Little Greenbrier area, the school, and her memories of growing up with the famous Walker Sisters. The Walker Sisters Cabin is a historic site inside the park that is easy to reach on foot. The Walker family moved onto the homestead around 1870. The family included 13 members - seven daughters and four sons - with six daughters remaining on the homestead throughout their lives. During their time there, they raised animals, grew their own crops, hunted, made their own clothes, and produced everything else they needed. After the park service acquired the land, the sisters' lifestyle shifted from hunter-gatherers to welcoming visitors and selling goods to those who came. Your group can include up to 12 people, and a picnic lunch will be provided. Expires 02/27/2027.
