Item Description: This wonderful functional ceramic basket is made by Cathye Baldonadoand demonstrates a Nerikomi coiling technique. Nerikomi is the blending of different colored clays to achieve pattern. Ms Baldonado as used this process and a layer glaze to try and capture the beauty of the desert night sky.

Artist Bio: Ms Baldonado found her love of pottery when she was in her mid to late60's. She has no formal training but has been a student at Clay Arts Vegas for the past 12 years. After a brief stint at wheel throwing she found her niche at hand building and had never looked back. Although slab work is her preferred method of work, she is proficient at coiled, extruded, sculptural and pinch techniques. Her pieces have been exhibited at City Hall, West Sahara Library, Charleston Heights Art Center, Art 321 Casper Wyoming, "Artist Collaboration" exhibited around the world, and L 'Bella Arts in Motion.
