At Heart Haven Outreach, we focus on building the relationships, skills, and opportunities that help teens grow into resilient young adults. Our work is grounded in the belief that every teen is lovable, capable, and worthwhile. Healthy development takes root when teens have steady, caring relationships with adults and peers. We create environments where teens feel supported, understood, and genuinely connected.
Our Approach
Connection
Teens need relationships they can trust, and H2O gives them a safe place to build them. Through mentoring, support groups, and shared experiences, teens learn how to give and receive support, communicate honestly, and build friendships built on trust.Confidence
Teens with confidence speak up, try new things, and handle problems without shutting down. At H2O, teens practice setting healthy boundaries, managing stress, and communicating with respect. Mentors help them take responsibility for their actions and help them remain accountable to their goals.Curiosity
Hands-on activities and real-world experiences help teens discover interests and strengths they did not know they had. Whether exploring STEM challenges, painting canvases, cooking together, attending leadership retreats, visiting colleges, or meeting local business owners, teens learn to try new things and expand their view of what is possible.
Our Need
As we approach the end of 2025, we are facing financial challenges due to cuts to youth development grants. We need to raise $20,000 by December 31st to sustain programs and expand opportunities for youth in Bolingbrook, Romeoville, and Plainfield. Every gift helps a teen stay connected to mentors who guide them as they develop habits and skills that support their path toward completing high school.
How Your Gift Makes an Impact:
- $50 - Funds one month of mentoring sessions for a teen to feel seen and supported.
- $150 - Provides one teen with six months of rides to program, keeping them engaged and connected.
- $500 - Covers the cost of a fun and engaging field trip that broadens teens' experiences.
