Dina has always had a love of natural stones, amassing quite a collection of geodes and minerals at a young age. She began as a designer working with all natural semi-precious stones in solid 18k gold and sterling silver only but began working in vermeil after the price of gold became untouchable. She decided to use the same high quality stones in a metal that would allow more people to wear her designs, creating a fine jewelry look without the price. She designs for busy women like herself who wear many hats and this is how her hinged opening bail came to be, allowing any pendant to be worn on any Dina Mackney chain. The idea of being able to mix and match quickly and easily was a game changer.

Established in 2002, Dina designs pieces favoring clean lines that are feminine without the fuss. First distributed through Nordstrom, the line is now sold through Neiman Marcus and boutiques nationwide. Dina studied at The Parsons School of Design, the University of Virginia and the British Institute of Florence in Italy. A native Texan, she has spent time living around the globe and now lives in the Washington DC area with her two children.
