The handle features a black palm handle, carefully sanded and shaped to sit naturally and comfortably in the hand. The handle is paired with a stonewashed blade made from L6 steel, a steel prized in industrial saw blades for its outstanding toughness and edge durability. Because L6 steel is not stainless, light maintenance is recommended if the knife is used regularly. The blade has been waxed, and additional wax or oil can be applied as needed. For routine maintenance, simply wash, dry, and protect. Do not place in a dishwasher! If the knife is displayed rather than used, no maintenance is required.

Several details set this knife apart as truly hand-crafted. The final portion of the blade bevel is convexed, similar to an axe edge, which improves edge retention and helps push material away from the blade during cuts and results in smoother, more efficient slicing. The stonewashed finish is achieved through an acid etching and tumbling process that creates a forgiving, wear-friendly surface and offers added resistance to rust.

A subtle visual line near the end of the tang reflects the hand-forging and heat-treating process itself, marking where the blade was held during quenching.
