Handcrafted Damascus Steel Knife with Prehistoric Equid Tooth Handle

This exquisite auction item showcases a unique Damascus steel knife created by a modern artisan, Michael Stallings, a native of Palatka, Florida. Stallings has crafted a unique, one-of-a-kind knife which honors the heritage of the modern equid. The 4 teeth used to create the knife handle were found in the St. Johns River and resembles the high-crowned molars of late Pleistocene equids. It was carefully cut, polished, and stabilized, then set into a modern horseshoe for display. In front of the knife is a 3-D print of a Pleistocene Equus on a driftwood base from the river, illustrating the animal that once roamed these lands. On the back is a 3D print silhouette of a horse head.
