Azure Class

Wiggles and Giggles! is a joyful collaborative collage created by the Azure classroom toddlers. Radiating movement, individuality, and community spirit, the piece is inspired by the bold lines, vibrant colors, and celebratory energy of Keith Haring, using simplified figures and dynamic composition to capture the essence of childhood.

The project began with a shared experience: the children worked side by side to transform a blank surface into a vibrant blue field with broad, expressive strokes. Candid photos of the children at recess-running, twirling, jumping, and laughing-were then transformed into simplified silhouettes that preserved their unique gestures and play styles.

Each child selected a color that resonated with them to paint their own silhouette. These bold figures were arranged against the blue backdrop, with a vivid magenta floor added to ground the composition and heighten the contrast and sense of motion. The final scene shows the children reaching, dancing, balancing, and exploring-reflecting their joyful winter months in the movement room, filled with music and imaginative play.

Through collaboration, color, and scale, Wiggles and Giggles! celebrates the lively spirit of the Azure community and the boundless energy of toddlerhood.
