Custom JPK Artwork created by the entire JPK class: centered around the theme of "Momentum".
This year's auction features a collaborative all-EC masterpiece alongside individual class works, all centered on the theme of "Momentum." While every piece shares the same palette of seven or eight colors, each is entirely unique. Instead of brushes, the students used squeeze bottles to apply paint while in motion, making the physical act of moving part of the art itself. Throughout the process, students passed colors back and forth, creating a shared rhythm that you can actually see on the canvas. It's a true celebration of process art-where the energy, laughter, and connection of the moment are just as important as the finished work.

Canvas 48 x 72 inches
Love took center stage as Kindergartners explored monochromatic color, using shades and tones of a single hue to create depth. Working with colored pencils, oil pastels, watercolor, and tempera paint, each student created a series of mini works that were combined into a collaborative, heart-filled collage. The final piece reflects both individual expression and a shared sense of joy.

Fourth Grade: Standing SculptureThis Alberto Giacometti-inspired piece celebrates figurative movement. The fourth grade curriculum has long incorporated a study of gesture drawing, the human figure, and sculpture, and this year it aligned perfectly with the Auction. In addition to each child creating their own miniature version, they also collaborated on this life-sized figure using pool noodles, wire, newspaper, and tape.

Fifth Grade: Cars Painting / Wall Hanging, 20 x 16 inches
Fifth graders were very invested in this grade level project for the Auction. They spent a great deal of time brainstorming and worked to combine as many of their ideas as possible. They ultimately decided on a car theme, and each student received a small car to personalize with spray paint and acrylic.

Sixth Grade: Painting / Wall Hanging, 22 x 30 inchesInspired by the 1831 Japanese woodblock print The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai, each sixth grader received a section of the wave composition. Students decided whether to use warm or cool colors to complete their individual squares, which then came together to form one unified work of art. The banner translates to "Class of 2029."
Custom 7th Grade Art
Seventh graders designed and built a gear board using pegboard as the base. Working in groups, they planned gear size and spacing so the pieces would connect and function together. Their designs were laser-cut, sanded, and spray painted before being attached to the pegboard with bolts. Students refined placement and alignment, testing their gears to ensure they meshed properly and moved smoothly. The final piece is a collaborative gear board.
Eighth Grade: Painting, 48 x 60-inch Stretched CanvasCreative eighth graders collaborated on a project that blends art and innovation, using stencil work to commemorate their portraits. Students worked within a blue and silver palette, layering X and O marks across the canvas to create a dynamic background. They were photographed in class, then used Adobe Photoshop to posterize their portraits and transform them into stencils. Using the laser cutter in the Innovation Center, all 36 students were incorporated into the final composition.

Ninth Grade: Painting, Nine Rearrangeable 24 x 24-inch SquaresNinth graders were inspired by a social media post featuring an artist building up texture with flexible modeling paste. Excited to continue exploring the theme of momentum, they designed imagery across nine square canvases. They used this medium along with laser-cut stencils to build layered surfaces and achieve their desired textured effects.
