Captured in 2017 at the historic Galtaji Temple (often called the Monkey Temple) near Jaipur, Rajasthan, this signed limited giclee print showcases Julian Ungano's signature "cinematic eye." The photograph depicts a moment of raw, kinetic energy as local boys plunge into the sacred kunds (water tanks) of the 18th-century pilgrimage site. Ungano captures the juxtaposition between the timeless, pink sandstone architecture of the Aravalli hills and the fleeting, vibrant life of its inhabitants.
Julian Ungano is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer known for operating at the intersection of fashion, art and documentary. A graduate of the Pratt Institute and former assistant to David LaChapelle, Ungano has built a career capturing intimate, rare moments for global publications including Vogue, Vanity Fair and The New York Times.
Fine print: "Boys at Galtaji," Rajasthan, India, 2017. Signed limited giclee print. 30 x 30 inches.
