This spectacular four-piece Quadriptych by Dana Ruth Harvey - is an ethereal piece which reminds us of the seasons of the year and how light (Monet-like) changes our view of simple images. Each of the four panels is 12 x 24".
Danna Ruth Harvey is one of the quietest yet most prolific artists living and working in Houston.
An artist whose work explores how people experience the passing of time. Harvey has finally decided to slow her own pace down to one more like the calm, reflective rhythms of her minimalist oil-and-wax landscapes.
From Dana:
"I am continuing to work with my favorite materials, oil and a wax medium in a cold encaustic technique. I have recently added paper and I am pleased to discover the amazing compatibility of oil, wax and paper. Because the papers I choose are very porous, they absorb the oil and wax thoroughly & become part of each other. I finish the piece by entombing the completed image in multiple layers of wax. The result is translucent, like looking into ice."
