Dana Montlack is an interdisciplinary biospheric artist, researcher, and educator who uses her decades-long exploration of natural elements to bridge the worlds of art and science through her distinctive layered imagery, focusing on the environment. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide and is featured in both private and public spaces, including the Whitney Marine Biology Research Center, Atlantis The Palm in Dubai, Scripps Memorial Hospital, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego.
Throughout the years, Dana's work has garnered recognition from both the art and scientific communities. She has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed scientists from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the International Ocean Discovery Program, in conjunction with the School of Rock on the JOIDES Resolution Expedition. Dana was also awarded a Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant from the University of Georgia, funded by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Her work was featured at the 2018 and 2019 Burning Man festivals. Currently, she is participating in a presentation at the Geological Society of America, exploring the intersection between geoscience and the creative arts.

Dana holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master of Fine Arts in Mixed Media from Otis Parsons School of Art and Design. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including Art Table Leadership, the College Art Association, and the Science-Art Collaboration.
