Anna Brady

Pigment & oil on canvas

24" x 24"

Anna Brady Artist Bio:

Anna Brady (b. 1982) is an abstract oil painter born and based in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her BFA in Textile Design from the University of Georgia with emphasis on weaving, dyeing, screen printing, and Japanese surface techniques. In 2004, Anna studied traditional Japanese fiber art in Kyoto including Yuzen, Katazome, and Shibori.

Currently, she is an emerging artist utilizing pigment and oil on canvas whose work explores color, texture, minimalism, and the delicate balance between control and spontaneity. The textured brushstrokes in her work recall woven patterns, while the pigment application is reminiscent of ikat and shibori dyeing. Inspired by her fiber arts background, she aims to evoke a dialogue between painting and textiles.

Brady's work has been recently exhibited at the Hamptons Fine Art Fair, Dunwoody Gallery, The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, Gallery Chimera, & the Atlanta Art Fair.
