Sister Claudine Memorial Aprons
These custom aprons have been designed and donated by Tanner Richie, St. Joseph School alum and of the internationally successful Tanner Fletcher fashion brand in fond memory of our beloved Sister Claudine. Warm memories of Sister Claudine have been thoughtfully sewn in every detail and finished in her words that live on in our hearts, "God love you, we do." The pockets are filled with tootsie rolls, her favorite candy for sharing- embodying Sister's timeless sweetness and generosity that we can continue to share with those we meet.
The identical, mid-length, cotton aprons are adorned with signature Tanner Fletcher pink bows, Sister Claudine's favorite color. Tanner shared that the phrase "God love you, we do" has been intentionally embroidered in a beautiful cursive writing to pay homage to Sister Claudine's insistence on her students' use of the classic handwriting style. Tanner reflects that, "I remember her being very strict with cursive handwriting, which I still write in everyday and often
think of her when I know I could slow down and do better!"
"Sister Claudine definitely embraced my creative side and I think she always knew that I would be doing something in a creative field. She was a kind woman with a fun sense of humor. I'm not sure that she showed that side to everyone, but we had that kind of relationship and were always joking with each other in a playful way. When I was making bags in middle school, she always asked me to make aprons. I tried, but they weren't very functional. I never did make one in middle school that was worthy of gifting to her. As I continued on after school to pursue my dreams, she didn't forget that I still owed her an apron! I was planning on making one for her before she passed, but unfortunately missed the chance. I believe now is the next best time to share these aprons and honor the memory of our cherished Sister Claudine, supporting the students and school she loved so dearly."
