From the heart of the Artist:
"I wanted to capture how average America, years later, quietly remembers and honor heroes that sacrificed so much."
How to honor, in a painting, the many heroes that rushed towards the chaos on September 11?
How to represent average America reflecting on that day?
How to capture "9/11 Never Forget."
"His clothing tells us he is not from NYC. He represents quintessential middle America. The hazy city line of NYC conveys the physical distance between him and a city he might have never visited."
"On his jacket, the first responders (organizations) are represented by their official patches. In the order of most members lost, the patches belong to FDNY (fire department), PAPD (Port Authority Police Department), NYPD, EMT's. His jacket tells those around him that he has not forgotten."
