Phil Austin (American, 1910-2004, American Watercolor Society member), About the Artist: Phil Austin (1910 - 2004) was active/lived in Wisconsin, Illinois. Phil Austin is known for Marine, landscape. From Ellison Bay, Wisconsin, and Chicago, Illinois. He was also a teacher at Wheaton College from 1963 to 1970 and worked as a free-lance artist in Chicago from 1950 to 1966. Austin earned an BA degree from the University of Michigan in 1933. He was a member of the American Watercolor Society, the American Artists Professional League, and the Academic Artists Association. An October, 1971 issue of "American Artist" magazine had a feature article on him. Phil Austin died on February 12, 2004, at his home in Ellison Bay (Gills Rock), Wisconsin.
