Passions that have turned into jobs - Justin Story
Before coming to OSB, Justin wasn't sure about what he wanted to do with his life. He knew he needed to get a job in order to be independent, but had no idea what that would mean or entail.
He tried a few things at the One Step Beyond employment program, but everything just felt like work.
He started taking classes in the art program - in particular…Ceramics.
There was something about the feel of the clay, the way it felt to shape something on the pottery wheel…turning a blob of nothing into something beautiful. AND JUSTIN…he was good at it.
Justin can take a 15 LB ball of clay and build vases 2-3 feet tall.
Justin's work has been featured in galleries from Scottsdale to San Francisco.

Justin makes a modest living off of selling his art…he's done what he set out to do…but it doesn't feel like work
Through the art program he found his passion…and his passion is now his paycheck

To sustain these programs - the art classes, the theater workshops, the teachers, the materials, the transportation - our total cost is just under $23,000 for the year.
