Kathy Graf's artist and volunteer history:
"I began my career in art and design at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, where I majored in Jewelry and Fabric Design. I later pursued Graphic Design at Lawrence Technological University and earned my BFA in Interior Design from Wayne State University.
For 36 years, I built a successful career in Interior Design. A Michigan native, I continue to deepen my artistic practice by studying with master artists in watercolor, collage, and classical oil painting, including workshops with Phyllis Pransky of Marco Island. For many years, I volunteered with Wet Paint Live, an event that auctioned works by local artists to support art programs at Marco Island High School. Several of my paintings sold for $350 or more, an honor that strengthened my commitment to sharing art with the community.
Since 2016, I have also enjoyed volunteering with For the Love of Cats and the Domestic Animal Services of Collier County. I donate monthly to support their vital efforts and deeply admire Jan, Jim, and their dedicated team, who work tirelessly to care for abandoned and neglected cats. One of my most rewarding experiences was painting a portrait of a shy kitten I helped socialize until she was adopted. Contributing to the well-being of these animals and supporting such an important organization brings me immense joy."
