Description: Our campus seeks to host award-winning author and illustrator Vuthy Kuon for an engaging visit that will inspire creativity, resilience, and a love for literacy among students. Kuon's presentation, The Million Faces of Humpty, has been praised nationwide as "the best school visit we've ever had.?
Through storytelling, art, and personal reflection, Kuon shares his powerful journey as a Cambodian refugee who overcame tremendous obstacles to achieve success. His visit offers students an authentic learning experience that blends literacy, creativity, and character development.
Students will enjoy a "theater-style? book reading and a hands-on art activity where they help design Humpty's new face-a celebration of creativity and diversity. The presentation concludes with The Million Faces of Humpty, a joyful finale that highlights student voice and imagination.
By hosting this event, we will:
Inspire perseverance and creativity through Kuon's story of resilience.

Strengthen literacy and engagement through art and storytelling.

Build community and inclusion through collaborative creativity.

Empower students to believe that "there is nothing they cannot do.?

This grant will fund a dynamic, transformative experience that sparks imagination, deepens literacy connections, and creates lasting memories across our school community.
