Description: Adapted books are modified with visual, tactile, and language supports to make reading accessible and meaningful for students with disabilities. These adaptations benefit learners with communication challenges, visual impairments, and physical limitations, including those using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. The adapted library allows students with disabilities to engage with peers and printed text found in the general library, promoting inclusion while building literacy, language, and communication skills.

Through this grant, the special education department will expand its collection of adapted books and materials to meet diverse student needs. Features include:
- High visual contrast for visual or sensory needs
- Tactile elements for sensory exploration
- Page-turning supports for physical accessibility
- AAC integration through devices and switches for meaningful participation

Each selected book highlights inclusivity, disability awareness, and social-emotional themes, ensuring representation and positive messages. This shared collection will be used across special education, therapy, and classrooms districtwide.
