Description: The Medical Terminology Kit will provide students with hands-on, interactive tools to master the language of healthcare-an essential foundation for success in all medical pathways. This grant will enhance authentic learning in Friendswood ISD by equipping classrooms with resources such as anatomical models, terminology flashcards, games, and digital tools that bring medical vocabulary to life.
Students will apply their knowledge through real-world activities, including decoding patient charts, building word roots and suffixes, and simulating healthcare communication scenarios. These experiences foster deeper understanding, critical thinking, and confidence in using professional medical language-skills directly aligned with healthcare certifications, dual credit courses, and future career readiness.
By integrating this kit into the Health Science curriculum, students move beyond memorization to authentic application, connecting classroom learning to real clinical practice. The Medical Terminology Kit supports FISD's commitment to preparing every learner for meaningful engagement and growth in the rapidly expanding healthcare industry.
