Description: This grant will provide large, high-quality injection practice pads that allow Health Science students to gain hands-on experience performing intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections in a safe and realistic environment. By practicing on life-like simulation materials, students can develop proper technique, precision, and confidence before performing skills in clinical or lab settings.
The injection pads support authentic learning by bridging classroom instruction with real-world healthcare applications. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge of anatomy, aseptic technique, and medication administration in a way that mirrors professional practice. These experiences enhance critical thinking, communication, and procedural accuracy-key components of success in healthcare careers.
Providing realistic, repeatable practice opportunities helps students master skills required for industry certifications such as the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT). This grant directly supports FISD's mission to prepare students for postsecondary success through engaging, hands-on, and career-connected learning experiences.
