Description: The Hot or Not Lab will bring real-world healthcare experiences to life for students in the Health Science pathway by providing clinical-grade thermometers and temperature training tools. These resources will allow students to practice accurate temperature measurement techniques-an essential skill for patient care technicians, medical assistants, and nurses.
Through hands-on simulations, students will learn to identify normal and abnormal body temperature ranges, practice infection control procedures, and understand how vital signs reflect overall patient health. This grant bridges classroom instruction with authentic healthcare application, transforming lessons on body systems and vital signs into interactive, skill-based learning experiences.
By integrating industry-relevant equipment, students gain confidence and competence in a foundational healthcare task, preparing them for success in certification exams, clinical rotations, and future medical careers. The Hot or Not Lab will help ignite curiosity, accuracy, and professionalism in the next generation of healthcare heroes.
