Description: This grant will provide opportunities for authentic, inclusive learning experiences across Friendswood ISD by equipping our Partner PE, Adaptive PE, and new Rec Leisure programs with fun and useful equipment. Partner PE pairs general education students with students with special needs, creating a powerful environment where all students learn teamwork, empathy, and shared success. Adaptive equipment and modified items expand access so every student can participate meaningfully, regardless of ability. With more equipment options, teachers and staff can rotate engaging activities that build motor skills, encourage social interaction, and promote lifelong healthy habits. These resources not only improve function for students with special needs, but also enrich the experiences of their peers-fostering a culture of understanding, belonging, and joy. By supporting this grant, you help ensure that every student in FISD can move, play, and grow together in ways that reflect the district's commitment to authentic, inclusive learning.
