Description: This grant will fund the purchase of upgraded batteries, an additional controller, and a new camera lens for our DJI Inspire 2 camera drone, used by aerospace engineering students and AV students to capture aerial footage of rocket launches, robotics competitions, events, community outreach, and promotional media.

Our Inspire 2 is a powerful tool for storytelling, branding, and documentation-but its current single-operator setup limits our media potential. With a second controller, a student camera operator can independently manage camera pan, tilt, zoom, and focus while a separate pilot handles flight-mirroring professional aerial cinematography workflows used in production, film, surveying, architecture, and media marketing. New batteries will allow longer flight time and safer operation during competitions, outdoor testing, and events. A new camera lens will expand the creative versatility of aerial footage, allowing both wide cinematic coverage and close detailed engineering shots. These upgrades improve reliability, safety, and production quality.
