Enjoy three bottles of 2011 Tenuta San Guido "Guidalberto" Toscana.
Guidalberto is a sibling of Sassicaia, Italy's first and most famous "Super Tuscan" wine. Super Tuscans are typically made with French wine-making techniques from French grapes grown near the Tyrrhenian Sea coast in southwestern Tuscany where the gravelly soils are similar to those often found in Bordeaux.
Wine critic Antonio Galloni gave the 2011 Guidalberto, which is a blend of 60% Cabernet and 40% Merlot, a 93 rating and the following review:
"Mocha, espresso, plums and cloves form a highly expressive mosaic of aromas and flavors in the 2011 Guidalberto. Wonderfully open and seductive, the 2011 captures the essence of Bolgheri in a style that is resonant and super sensual. Silky tannins make the 2011 impossible to resist. San Guido hit it out of the park with the 2011 Guidalberto."
