LA RAMS Announcer; Recently named "Sheriff of Pacific Palisades" for his fire recovery efforts, and his support of Corpus Christi parish; Former Vice Chancellor at Pepperdine University and former President of Notre Dame High School. We are so honored that he enthusiastically accepted our invitation to be the HUMANITARIAN AWARD Honoree for 2025.
CORPUS CHRISTI PARISH & Msgr. Liam Kidney
The church was burnt down in the Palisades fire, but the spirit of Corpus Christi parish lives on under the leadership of Msgr. Kidney (a previous honoree) through his messages of hope and determination. They have become the ROAMING CATHOLICS and come together to celebrate Masses at churches all over the area. This BEACON OF HOPE award was created specifically for Corpus Christi Parish for this reason.
MARY AGNES ERLANDSON-CERNY
Mary Agnes started working at CCLA in 1985 and established and named Director of St. Margaret's Center in 1987. SMC, as it is fondly referred to, is the thriving community center it is today because of her leadership. It offers the food program, housing assistance, immigration services, ESL classes, Mercy (hygiene) bag distribution, shower services and the annual Christmas Program for clients to get gifts for their children. We are giving her this Special Recognition in honor of her retirement in September.
