The Detroit Naval Armory, designed by the Detroit firm Stratton & Hyde, combined the vertical and streamlined characteristics of the era's Art Deco and Art Moderne styles. Besides housing and training servicemen, the armory's huge indoor drill floor hosted dances and U.S.O. mixers, auto shows, political and sporting events, including the first career boxing match for future champion Joe Louis. This original 16 x 20 print is matted, framed, signed by the artist and comes with a certificate noting its inclusion in the exhibit.
