About the fly tying station from the maker:

Using years of personal experience tying on boards like this one, I have worked in various elements into this station to help make your tying experience as seamless and well laid out as possible. Hand-sanded and finished with Tung Oil. This is a solid block of Walnut as well (1.8" inches thick!), not thinner pieces glued together).

Various hole sizes are included to accommodate various tools, glues, etc... There are 2 magnets in a basin to catch hooks and beads. All holes are 0.75" - 1" deep depending on their planned function to allow plenty of room to secure your tools or spools without them tipping over. I also build into these stations a 5"x5" cutout to accommodate a vise base should you have one (I use the Peak Traveler vise which fits perfectly into this cutout).

If you don't have a vise or if you wanted to use it separately, that 5"x5" space could be used for a variety of additional tools/pieces for your flies. Also included are 6 pre-cut brass rods to hold your spools of thread (each brass rod is tall enough to hold 2 spools each).

Brass rods are loose in that they can be moved to other locations/holes as needed.
