4Winterberry Holly (IIex verticillata)
A slow growing native holly shrub can eventually reach heights of 6' to 10' tall. Produces an abundance of greenish-white flowers in late spring or early summer, followed by a profusion of cherry red berries that hang on well into winter. Besides adding color to the landscape, the berries are fed upon by many different types of birds in the winter when food can be scarce. Likes moist soil and full sun to shade. Hollies need a male plant and a female plant to produce berries. Our plants are not identified by sex. For best chance of having fruit, order at least two plants.
