0Eastern Meadow Blazing Star (Liatris scariosa) (Qt.)
Eastern Meadow Blazing Star is a tall, native perennial. Rose, lavender, or white feathery flowers open from top to bottom in late summer, making excellent cut or dried flowers. It does well in dry soil or rocky soil. The flowers attract a variety of pollinators, including butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Native Americans used the plant for a number of medicinal purposes. It is considered largely deer resistant.
