**Past MOCA Exhibiting Artist
Los Angeles artist Fay Ray's Black Matrix is a jewelry-like arrangement exemplifies the artist's signature hanging sculptures which reference histories of abstraction and spiritual iconographies, and reflect the artist's experiences of birth, creativity, and life-force as a mother of three. This elegant sculpture can hang from the ceiling or against a wall, making it a dynamic addition to any contemporary art collection. MOCA Tucson presented Ray's first solo museum exhibition, PORTALS, in 2024. Ray's work has shown at the Gagosian Gallery, the Palm Springs Art Museum, El Museo del Barrio, among others. Her work is held in the permanent collection of the Palm Springs Museum of Art and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
