Professor Michael Palladino, of the Fashion Merchendise/ Business Department thought of The Coat of Dreams as a way to help acknowledge and celebrate 60 years of excellence at KCC.

Fashion Design Professor Sharon Parker created the coat from upcycled cotton canvass designed the pattern of the coat.

Students in the Fashion Programs and others as well as members of the KCC community were able to pick up pre-cut upcycled fabric swatches which they could embellish as they chose.

Professor Deniz Sak was very helpful in getting swatches distributed. All the collected completed swatches were then attached to the coat creating a vibrant mosaic of our students thoughts, hopes and dreams.

The Coat of Dreams will debut at the Spring 2025 Fashion Show on May 27th at 3pm in the M.A.C. Rotunda.

There is a cadre of students who selflessly volunteered their time to spearhead this initiative and deserve a special shout out!

Ann Velluzzi, Rasha Alhaj, Jazmin Martinez, and Gabriella Loiacono were instrumental in the completion of the Coat Of Dreams. They helped to create a strong sense of the community we celebrate and created a welcoming environment for all the KCC Community.

There have been many hands that will have touched this coat representing a total of 100 hours of work.

We are ALL proud to have the Coat of Dreams as an auction item at our 18th Annual Fundraiser. What a wonderful way to celebrate the work of our students as they share their dreams and experiences.

This coat is a legacy to the power we create when we dream together. Your bid on the Coat of Dreams will enable others to realize their dreams.
