JULIE KREGNESS THORSEN has her own style. Not prone to pretension, trend or put-upon themes, Thorsen produces and exhibits new work. Her home base is Omaha, Council Bluffs. Humor, experiences, relationships, non-violent-play, protest and environmental practices continue in her work. Thorsen has taught and developed curricula for Joslyn Art Museum and UNMC's Weigel Williamson Low Vision Center; provided work for Hughes Space and Com. in California and designed for Desmond's of Los Angeles and Neswick Court of Connecticut. Moreover, Thorsen volunteers artistic time for those who are without. Thorsen's art and photography benefited most following study and collaboration with Martha Hazard Wagner, Daniel Boylan and Evy Render-Katz. She also studied and worked in California. She is represented by Rebecca Boylan's The Frame Service, Omaha, NE; was a Bemis Art Auction contributor, Omaha, NE; and a past 1516 Gallery special exhibitions contributor, Omaha, NE.
