EDUARDO GARDEA is a self-taught artist working out of Omaha, Nebraska, whose practice centers on bearing witness to the untold stories of the underrepresented. Drawing from personal experience and collective memory, he creates new perspectives on what he has seen or lived through-challenging viewers to locate themselves within a broader social narrative. Working across a range of mediums including canvas, wood, glass, bronze, and murals his work reclaims space for those historically excluded from dominant economic, political, and cultural spheres, honoring the depth of immigrant, Indigenous, and working-class lives. A recipient of the LALA Fellowship, Gardea has participated in multiple group exhibitions including the Bemis Art Auction and has permanent installations in businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout Omaha-more recently at UNMC's new Catalyst Innovation Space building. Through his art, he celebrates the unseen and asserts the value of their stories.
