MARGARET BERRY is a studio artist in Lincoln, Nebraska, specializing in encaustic, a mixture of hot beeswax, resin and pigment, fused with a torch. She paints, sculpts, and incorporates photographs and collage elements into this sensuous medium. A charter member of International Encaustic Artists and an artist-in-residence with the Nebraska Arts Council, she has taught her unique process throughout the US.
With degrees from Creighton University and UNL, Berry has served as Lincoln Arts Council director, Lux Art Center education director and Artist-in-Residence for the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel. She is a recipient of both the Lux Community Arts Award and a Mayor's Arts Award. Berry has also been invited to numerous group and solo exhibitions in seventeen states. In Nebraska, her work has been shown at the Sheldon Museum, the Museum of Nebraska Art, the Lux Center, the Bone Creek Museum, Lauritzen Gardens, and the National Willa Cather Center.
